Boy George has been accused of “ripping off” Kylie Minogue after sharing his artwork for new single Religion – which bears a striking resemblance to the artwork of Minogue’s latest album, Tension.
The artwork for Tension, which shows Minogue surrounded by a sunset-coloured background and holding a giant diamond over her eyes, was captured by British photographer Haris Nukem, and the packaging – including the font and overall design – was created by Studio Moross.
While we don’t know (yet) who designed the artwork for George’s new single, the Religion artwork finds him backed by a sunset hue and font eerily similar to Tension. Even the colouring of the artist – bathed in green – looks the same as Tension when examining the pair side by side.
Fans have accused George of “ripping off” Minogue with the new artwork, while others believe the two popular singers could be lining up a publicity stunt for a future collaboration. However, George may have lost some good graces with Minogue fans after leaking Padam Padam last year. Kylie called him “naughty” following the leak.
In response to accusations of ripping off Kylie Minogue, Boy George wrote on X (formerly known as Twitter): “I'm recycling everything. It's all the rage. Even fashion is catching on?”

You can look at fan reactions to the similar artwork below.
In recent Boy George news, the Culture Club singer went to town on Madonna in his new memoir, Karma.
“Madonna is everything it says on the tin, but she adds new ingredients every day,” he stated in his book. “I know for a fact she’s too full of herself to even mention me.
“She once said, ‘Boy George was mean to me in the '80s, and he’s still mean.’ To be fair, I haven’t really been given the opportunity.”
Meanwhile, Kylie Minogue will be presented with the Global Icon Award at the BRITs next weekend. Kylie recently featured on the new Sia single Dance Alone and took home her second Grammy Award a few weeks ago for Best Pop Dance Recording (for Padam Padam).

I love Boy George, but even I can’t help but think that the artwork for his new single is awful. Like, that font/colour combination worked for Kylie’s album cover, but for his new single, it just looks really tacky. Sorry and all that. 🙄 https://t.co/qX4WusaJLm
