"The making of 'Moonfire' was one of the more influential experiences of our career so far."
It's been a decade since Boy & Bear released their seminal debut LP Moonfire, which catapulted them into stardom around the round.
Now, the Sydney indie five-piece are celebrating the album in a massive way, with a very special one-off show that will see them play the 2011 album in full - along with some brand new, never before heard tunes.
While the current lockdowns don't allow for the show to go ahead on the anniversary itself, the group have plowed ahead and will play the show in Sydney next year.
“A band's debut record is always a pretty big moment," frontman Dave Hosking said of the upcoming show, "and it’s fair to say that the making of Moonfire was one of the more influential experiences of our career so far."
The album skyrocketed to #2 in the Australian charts, as well as garnering the band a staggering five ARIA Award wins and taking out the #4 position in the annual triple j Hottest 100 for the single Feeding Line.
The Moonfire anniversary show will take place next year, 12 February, at NSW's Sydney State Theatre.
