Blues On Broadbeach Announces First Artist Lineup For 2023

Blues On Broadbeach has announced its return for 2023, along with an incredible first-artist lineup that brings the best of blues to the Gold Coast. Supported by the Queensland government, Blues on Broadbeach has managed to stay as a predominantly free event, meaning that all music lovers get to enjoy the phenomenal artists set to grace the stage in May 2023. 

Headlining the festival is two-time grammy-nominated artist Tommy Emmanuel, who will share his renowned guitar skills. This will be the first time Emmanuel has visited Australia in four years, so it's guaranteed to be a special show. 

Joining him on the lineup is the legendary Don Walker, who began his career in Cold Chisel and wrote countless classics such as ‘Saturday Night’, ‘Cheap Wine’, ‘Standing on the Outside’, ‘Four Walls’, ‘Khe Sahn’ and more. Now he comes to us solo to share some of his best work outside of the band.... were also hoping some classics get thrown in there too.

Incredible blues singer Emma Donovan will also perform with her band, The Putbacks, bringing the groove with their soulful rhythmic antics.

Don Bryant & The Bo-Keys (US), The Kevin Borich Express, and The Turner Brown Band (US/AUS) will also join their fellow blues artists on the lineup, with more to be announced. 

On the event, Mark Duckworth, Gold Coast Director of Festival and Events, said: “We look forward to adding even more friends to the festival family in 2023. Blues on Broadbeach has become the Gold Coast’s home of Blues for over two decades, and we are all excited to announce these amazing acts to the 2023 lineup,”

“We are gearing up for a rhythms, blues, and roots festival like no other in May, with some legendary international acts joining plenty of homegrown talent on our Blues on Broadbeach stages. The 2023 lineup includes some exceptional singer/songwriters like Memphis blues legend Don Bryant and much-loved Aussie icon Don Walker, plus arguably one of the world’s best guitarists, Tommy Emmanuel.”

In addition to the fantastic lineup, Blues On Broadbeach are bringing back their exclusive membership Twelve Bar Society for punters who want to elevate their Blues on Broadbeach experience. Last year, members enjoyed everything from a microbrewery tour to artist Q&As. 

Memberships will go on sale Tuesday, 29 November, and you can pre-register your interest now.

For inaugural members, a limited pre-sale will be available. 2023 memberships will be $149, plus booking fee, and will be available for purchase through Oztix.
