The hard rockers have shifted their mid-year run forward by a week
Stalwart US hard-rockers Black Stone Cherry have announced that they will be rescheduling their impending Australian tour this June, moving it forward by a week to accommodate their new role as just-announced supports on Steel Panther's forthcoming sojourn.
The shifted dates mean that Black Stone Cherry will now commence their Aussie run at Sydney's Big Top, Luna Park, on Friday 17 June, rolling with Steel Panther through shows in Melbourne (18 June), Brisbane (20 June), Adelaide (22 June), Perth (23 June) and Auckland (26 June). The band will be touching down fresh from an eight-date tour of the United Kingdom (including a showing at Glastonbury as well as at Wembley Arena).
"Due to a scheduling conflict, we're going to have to move our planned Australian tour dates forward by a week," the band explained in a statement. "In an effort to provide a stellar show for all the great Australian rock fans, and to also not get in each other's way, our good friends in Steel Panther have invited us to join forces with them on their tour.
"All tickets purchased for our original shows will be valid and honoured for the respective city and, as a thank you, that will be at no additional cost to the fans who now get to see two great bands.

"We apologise for any inconvenience, but look forward to seeing all of our amazing fans at the shows!"
The Australian visit — the band's first — comes in the wake of recently released fifth studio full-length Kentucky, which takes more than just its name from the band's home state in the US; indeed, all things Kentuckian are woven into the very fabric of the release, finding ways to rear its head through soundscapes and themes alike. In fact, according to frontman Chris Robertson, "This album is Kentucky".
"Everyone who plays on it is from Kentucky," he said. "It's in their blood just like it's in ours, and they added so much to the record."
Kentucky is out now, as is Steel Panther's newest, Live From Lexxi's Mom's Garage.
Tickets for all shows on the Steel Panther/Black Stone Cherry tour are available now via Oztix (Sydney, Brisbane), Ticketmaster (Melbourne/Adelaide), MegaTix (Perth) and AAA Ticketing (Auckland).
