Smashing Pumpkins ringleader Billy Corgan has gotten married, tying the knot to his longtime partner Chloe Mendel.
Mendel, the Creative Director and Co-Founder of the fashion brand Maison Atia has been with Corgan since 2012. She was born in New York City to French and Taiwanese parents.
As well as her venture with Maison Atia, Mendel co-owns Madame ZuZu’s with Corgan. The pair’s business is a multifunction tea store, vegan restaurant and performance venue in Illinois.
Corgan proposed to Mendel on her 30th birthday in September 2022, to which she “of course said yes”. The couple have two children together – their son, Augustus Juppiter Corgan, was born in November 2015, and their daughter, Philomena Clementine Corgan, was born in October 2018.

As People reports, Corgan was speaking to WGN for the 30th anniversary of the Smashing Pumpkins’ groundbreaking album, Siamese Dream. During the event, Corgan revealed that he and Mendel married on 16 September 2023 – one day before the 30th anniversary of Siamese Dream.
Before his relationship with Mendel, Corgan was married to Chris Fabian from 1993 until 1997.
Earlier this year, Corgan had the highest of compliments for Amy Taylor, vocalist of Amyl And The Sniffers, and his touring mate during the Smashing Pumpkins’ The World Is A Vampire dates across Australia.
“I hear all the hype. ‘She's the new Iggy Pop. She's the female this, she's the blah blah blah.’ And I'm thinking, ‘I've heard this so many times.’ It doesn't mean I was doubtful, but I'll wait until I see with my own eyes,” Corgan admitted in an Apple Music interview. “I looked at her for ten seconds on stage, and I said, ‘Holy mother of God. This is a true rockstar.’”
He continued, “Great band. And that's the power of rock and roll. So, somebody asked me after I saw them play, an interview, what do you think? And I said, ‘Wee, this is the problem with comparisons. There's only one of her. There's not... She's not anybody. That's why she's a star.’ There's a... We'll call it one of one. She's one of one. I think that's what people really are after. But we live in this business where it's like, ‘Sounds like…’”
