Manly’s very own annual beachside event Australian Open Of Surfing has announced its music line-up for the 2016 installment, with local superstars Angus & Julia Stone and indie-rock band Cloud Control set to headline the MTV Music Stage. Over 255,000 people are estimated to flock to iconic Manly Beach for the event which showcases a mixture of surf, skate and music in a nine-day affair.
Having recently signed on with music powerhouse MTV as a major sponsor for the event, the Australian Open of Surfing will feature two nights of free entertainment. Friday, 4 March will see Cloud Control take the stage, with Angus & Julia Stone due to make an appearance at the same time on Saturday night.
DJ sets will round out both nights and performances from Sydney boys Mansionair and Aussie singer Kita Alexander will compliment the already jam-packed lineup, too.
Simon Bates, Vice President and Head of MTV and Comedy Central is anticipating a big turnout from the Northern Beaches locals: "The Manly crowd is going to love the solid line-up at the Friday and Saturday afternoon events, and we’re looking forward to the public joining us at the MTV Music stage for some great Aussie performances."
