Better Lovers (Ex-Dillinger Escape Plan, Every Time I Die Members) Surprise Drop Debut EP

Better Lovers – the band featuring Every Time I Die’s Jordan Buckley, Clayton “Goose” Holyoak, and Stephen Micciche, The Dillinger Escape Plan vocalist Greg Puciato, and Fit For An Autopsy and END’s Will Putney – have surprise released their debut EP, God Made Me An Animal, following the release of first single 30 Under 13 in April.

A 15-minute assault on the senses in the best possible way, God Made An Animal contains the noisy, chaotic elements all the members pulled off in previous or current projects and some stunning yet crushingly heavy melodic moments. The four-song EP is available to stream now via Sharptone Records. 

“Surprise! Our debut EP, God Made Me An Animal, is out now,” the band shared in a statement. “Four eclectic and wildly fun songs we’ve been kicking around for what feels like forever; it’s great to finally have these out in the world. Let it happen to you. Hear all this and more on tour all Summer. The engine is turned on.”

God Made Me An Animal was produced and mixed by Putney (who’s also produced for legends in Body Count, In Hearts Wake, Stray From The Path, Thy Art Is Murder, and so many more), with vocal production handled by Josh Wilbur.

“Looking back, I’m so happy everything got me to where I am,” Jordan Buckley said following the release of 30 Under 13. “The pandemic and the last few years made me hungrier and more grateful. 

"This isn’t a hobby. This isn’t temporary. This is the next evolution for each of us. Greg and Will rejuvenated me and made me even more confident. Now, everybody needs to know we’re a wild animal that just broke out of the zoo—there’s no trying to put it back in the cage.”

Puciato added, “Jordan sent me some already finished instrumental tracks, and they hit me at just the right time. Those tracks woke up a side of me that I thought was fully extinct but was merely evolving and changing. To my complete surprise, there was still something left in that area to dig at, and the vessel for it made sense.”
