Bad Bunny To Drop New Album… This Week!

Global superstar Bad Bunny (real name Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio) has revealed that he’s releasing a new album this week, the follow-up to his 2022 record Un Verano Sin Ti.

His new album, Nadie Sabe Lo Que Va a Pasar Mañana, will be unveiled on Friday, 13 October, and feature the singles Where She Goes and Un Preview. Ocasio announced the new album via a slick new Instagram video, with the caption roughly translating to a teased “awaited day”: “el día más esperado por muchos ya llegó...”

The new LP title translates in English to “nobody knows what will happen tomorrow” – are we expecting an existential reggaeton-meets-trap album?

Earlier this year, Bad Bunny’s Un Verano Sin Ti became the first-ever Spanish language album to be nominated for the Grammy Award for Album Of The Year. While he didn’t win that award, he did take home the achievement for Best Música Urbana Album.

According to Bad Bunny’s recent Twitter posts, Nadie Sabe Lo Que Va a Pasar Mañana will feature a huge 22 tracks, promising that every song will be “Fuego” after “Fuego”, which means that every song on his new album will be “fire”.

A new album from Bad Bunny is a bit of a surprise, with the singer admitting to Rolling Stone earlier this year, “Before 2022 was over, I said in an interview, ‘2023 is going to be for me, to rest, to work on my physical health, on my mental health, to have my space, to enjoy, to be happy.’ And then 2023 starts with cabroneria” (translated to meanness or nastiness).

Earlier this year, Bad Bunny was named Spotify’s Artist Of The Year in 2022 (for the third year in a row) after his fourth solo album, Un Verano Sin Ti, became the most streamed album in Spotify’s history, overtaking a record previously held by Ed Sheeran’s Divide.

After Un Verano Sin Ti’s May 2022 release, the album went on to hit #1 on the Billboard 200, achieving a mind-blowing 356.66 million streams in its first week. Un Verano Sin Ti holds the record for the highest streaming numbers for a Latin music album.
