20 locals recognised in the competition!
The US-based Unsigned Only Music Competition has unveiled its winners today, which includes Queensland artist and BIGSOUND 2018 act, Sahara Beck.
The Sunshine Coast songwriter took home first place in the Adult Contemporary category with her new track, Here We Go Again, in the competition open to all artists who are unsigned to a major record label.
Winners were selected from over 6,000 entries across 95 countries and, as well as Beck, 19 more Aussies featured in the competition.
Fellow Queensland artist Mayah was awarded second place in the R&B/Hip Hop category with XO Girl, while honourable mentions were given to local acts such as This Way North, MAXO, Georgi Kay, Ralway Bell, Little Quirks, Carus Thompson, Danielle Deckard and Hox Loci to name a few.

"Australia always produces great independent artists, and this year was no exception," UO founders,Candace Avery and Jim Morgan said.
"We are always on the lookout for artists who create music that is creative, memorable, and enduring. We are proud to honour so many Aussie artists whose music embodies these traits."
