The UK heavyweights will return Down Under for a run of shows this April
Renowned British heavy outfit Asking Alexandria have announced a headline tour of Australia — their first since 2014's Soundwave Festival — next year, asking US contemporaries Blessthefall and local peers Buried In Verona along for the ride.
The bands will kick off their sure-to-be-blistering run of shows with a back-to-back showing in Melbourne, at 170 Russell, on Thursday 7 April (under-18) and Friday 8 April (18+). From there, the tour maintains all-ages mode as it passes through Brisbane (The Met, Saturday 9 April), Adelaide (HQ Complex, Sunday 10 April), Perth (Astor Theatre, Wednesday 13 April) and Sydney, where they bring the journey to a close at UNSW Roundhouse on Friday 15 April.
Although the band's most recent full-length release is 2013's third effort, From Death To Destiny, Asking Alexandria have been working away on a follow-up album, with an original release goal for this year pushed back to early 2016 — hopefully in time for their Aussie tour, to ensure that local fans get a healthy serving of fresh material when the band makes their eagerly awaited headline return to our shores.
Tickets for all shows go on sale from 10am next Friday, 4 December, though Telstra Thanks will run a members' pre-sale for 48 hours from 12pm on Monday 30 November, or until the allocation is exhausted.
