Finnish metal mavens Apocalyptica are bringing their metal and classical fusion tunes to Australia this September, showcasing their latest record, Shadowmaker.
After appearing on Soundwave Festival last year, the Helsinki quintet is finally coming back to Australia see their fans on this national, taking in four shows this September.
Eicca Toppinen, who formed the band, explains the concept behind the album Shadowmaker: "It concerns the notion that we have these faceless, nameless people who control the world we live in and make a lot of bad decisions on our behalf."
The quintet — cello and all — will perform tunes from their 16-year catalogue on their upcoming sojourn. Apocalyptica play Perth's Capitol on 21 September, Melbourne's 170 Russell on 23 September, Sydney's Metro Theatre on 24 September and finish up in Brisbane on 25 September at Max Watt's.
