Amy Sheppard Celebrates Weight Gain In Inspirational Social Post

Amy Sheppard has shared an inspirational story on social media, destigmatising weight gain for women across Australia. Judging by her post, the Nothing But Wild singer couldn’t be healthier or happier.

Unveiling a comparison pic of a very skinny Sheppard, the second photo shows a freer woman who looks far more comfortable in her body.

“I’VE PUT ON WEIGHT… DON’T PITY ME,” the post begins before she tells the true story: “This is not 'toxic fat'. 

“This soft, juicy, extra layer is FREEDOM. It's dinner out with my beautiful friends; it's a romantic walk to get ice cream with my partner; it's saying YES to new foods when traveling [sic]."

She continued, "It's feeling satisfied every day instead of deprived and irritated every day. This extra weight is my life, and there's no way I could ever trade it for a tiny pair of jeans again.”

The post has already gained incredible support from fans, with users complimenting her “wise words” and another writing, “You are such an inspiration to the younger girls of today. Embrace your curves, enjoy your food, love life!”

Another fan mentioned Sheppard’s inspirational words, writing, “I think you look amazing now. But you always looked amazing whatever size you were. Thank you for driving this message! I've always struggled with my weight and your posts always are a highlight.”

The glowing Amy Sheppard released her debut EP, Nothing But Wild, last September. Trading her pop stylings in the family band Sheppard for country music, she spent the past three years writing and building towards this debut solo release, which features the title track, which peaked at #3 on the Countrytown Hot 50 Country Airplay Chart.

In February, Amy returned to Sheppard, with the band releasing their first single in two years, Good Time. 

Sheppard released their third studio album, Kaleidoscope Eyes, in February 2021. Since then, they have also released the singles The Reasons Why (November 2021, following Amy and Lachlan Stuart's wedding) and a Christmas single, Christmas Without You, also in November 2021.
