“Council is proud to present this event which will boost the local economy with businesses participating in the celebrations with special offers for punters and hosting events at venues throughout the weekend," Cr Quirk said in a statement.
“I’d encourage anyone who’s in Brisbane from 23–25 October to get down to Fortitude Valley and check out our city’s biggest and most loved street party.”
Valley Fiesta's organiser Murray Sutherland of Kinetic Events said the festival would be showcasing Fortitude Valley’s thriving cultural scene.
“The massive three-day program will include pop-up bars, the Fiesta Feast in Chinatown showcasing some of the Valley’s top restaurants, special laneway events, the infamous Valley Markets, street theatre, interactive public art and photography exhibitions and a whole lot more," Mr Sutherland said.
“By broadening the scope of the event, the Fiesta will celebrate the Valley’s art and culinary offering, as well the music scene it is renowned for.”
