We speak with the UK singer.
Alison Moyet is the latest to take aim at Margaret Court as the UK songwriter prepares to perform at the controversial Melbourne arena named after the retired tennis player this October.
Speaking to The Music this week, Moyet admitted she was aware of the homophobic comments made by Court which made headlines this year.
"I didn't know Margaret Court as a tennis player but… it's not a tenet that I go along with and her attitude is one I find pretty offensive so I just hope that, you know, we completely fill the hall up with gayness," the singer said.
Moyet applauded bands such as Sigur Rós and Grinspoon who have taken stands during their own headline gigs at Margaret Court Arena, including labelling the venue, 'Marriage Equality Arena'.

"Well that's brilliant and yeah, I mean, I don’t understand that kind of mentality but, you know, all I know is that when I'm occupying that hall there's gonna be no element of homophobia," Moyet said.
US rockers Rise Against have also dismissed Court's comments, ahead of their concert at the venue next year.
Frontman Tim McIIrath told The Music last month, "I feel that if you are a person who harbours homophobic sentiments then it should turn your stomach to have a band like Rise Against play in an arena named after you".
