Australia is about to be home to a brand-new music festival that celebrates all things rock and roll. Pandemonium Rocks is an event that boasts heavy metal and hard rock icons, post-punk legends and alternative heroes, bringing international and local stars to Melbourne, Sydney, Bribie Island and the Gold Coast this April.
Alice Cooper, Blondie, Placebo and Deep Purple spearhead the inaugural Pandemonium Rocks festival. Like we said, legends of all kinds of rock and roll. They’ll be joined by Wheatus, Dead Kennedys, The Psychedelic Furs, Gang Of Four and Palace Royale.
On the local front, Pandemonium Rocks has locked in Gyroscope, Cosmic Psychos and Wolfmother. In addition to the international acts mentioned above, the festival is introducing Thai solo artist Petch.
Unfortunately, Blondie won’t be appearing at the Bribie Island edition of the festival.
The festival lands on our shores in a few months, kicking off at Melbourne’s Caribbean Gardens on Saturday, 20 April, followed by a weekday treat on Thursday, 25 April, at Sydney’s The Domain – the ANZAC Day public holiday – and two stops in Queensland, Doug Jennings Park on the Gold Coast on Saturday, 27 April, and the Sandstone Point Hotel on Sunday, 28 April, in Bribie Island.

Pandemonium Rocks has been teased on social media by prominent Australian concert promoter Andrew McManus (One World Entertainment) for weeks.
He’s been sharing teasers for the acts announced today, referencing song titles as little hints for the bands eventually revealed. The most obvious teasers were Deep Purple (with hints including Perfect Strangers and Highway Star), Alice Cooper (No More Mr Nice Guy), Blondie (Call Me, The Tide Is High), Gang Of Four (Damaged Goods), Dead Kennedys (Holiday In Cambodia), The Psychedelic Furs (Love My Way), Placebo (Every You Every Me) and Wheatus (Teenage Dirtbag).
The emergence of the new festival brings many acts back to Australia for the first time in years, marking Deep Purple’s first performance on Australian shores in eleven years, Blondie’s first gigs Down Under since 2017, the first time in five years for Gang Of Four, Wheatus’ first shows in Australia in twelve years, and Placebo’s first concerts Down Under in seven years. Alice Cooper last performed in Australia in February 2020.
