There are many things you shouldn’t do at a concert, but dancing sure isn’t one of them – and Adele has made it crystal clear that she agrees, telling off a security guard for hassling a dancing punter at one of her recent shows in Las Vegas.

Adele is currently underway with her sprawling residency at The Colosseum (a theatre inside the Caesar’s Palace casino and resort), where she’s performing every weekend until at least November 4. At her most recent show on Saturday (August 26), she paused her rendition of Water Under The Bridge to address an alternation between security and a fan, the latter of whom was supposedly being antagonised for dancing in a seated area.

As seen in video shared on social media, Adele stopped singing and took her microphone off its stand, walked over to the edge of the stage and directly addressed the guard to ask, “What is going on with that young fan there? He’s been bothered so much, since I came on, for standing up – what’s going on with him? … What are you doing? Why are you bothering him? Can you leave him alone, please?”

She then assured the fan in question that he would be free to dance – “they won’t bother you again, my darling, you enjoy the show” – before explaining to the rest of the audience: “He’s been bothered the whole show by security and other people sitting behind him. He’s here to have fun, alright? All of you are here to have fun. Let’s go again.”

Adele has thus far performed 48 shows at The Colosseum, with another 19 on the itinerary to go; the first leg of the Weekends With Adele residency ran over four months between November 2022 and March 2023, while the ongoing second leg kicked off back in June.

The residency comes in support of Adele’s fourth studio album, 30, which arrived in November of 2021.

Meanwhile, Adele recently addressed the concerning trend of concertgoers pelting their personal belongings at artists while they perform. At a show in July, she bluntly told her Vegas crowd: “Throw something at me and I’ll fucking kill you.”
