Another year of recognising our great country musos
Held last night in Brisbane, The 6th Annual CMC Awards crowned this year's biggest country music stars, with Adam Brand, Lee Kernaghan, Amber Lawrence and more taking out top honours.
Brand took the coveted gong of CMC Oz Artist Of The Year, going up against Lee Kernaghan, Christie Lamb and more. He said of the win, "I think the CMC Awards and CMC Rocks are a real landmark. They are getting stronger every year and they’re a force to be reckoned with. It’s an amazing thing and I never take it for granted and I’m very grateful."
Though Kernaghan didn't take out Oz Artist Of The Year, he went home with three others including Oz Male Artist Of The Year, Australian Video Of The Year and very first ARIA Highest Selling Australian Album, the latter unsurprisingly for Spirit Of The Anzacs. He noted, "One of the greatest things about these awards are that they are the ones that are voted by fans who come to the show, buy the albums and tune into CMC."
Country music leading lady Amber Lawrence took home her second Female Oz Artist Of The Year, while up-and-comer Caitlyn Shadbolt will have her New Oz Artist Of The Year award to display at home.
