666% Wholesome & Festive: Cannibal Corpse Vocalist Wins Stuffed Animals For Charity

Is George "Corpsegrinder" Fisher the sweetest person in metal? It sure seems that way.

Spreading the festive cheer, the Cannibal Corpse frontman has shared two extremely delightful sets of photos on Instagram. The first finds him and a mate posing with Santa Claus, including a snap of Santa sitting on Corpsegrinder's lap with a massive smile on his face. "Merry Christmas ya filthy animals!!!," he wrote, "yours truly with the best Mall Santa ever!!!"

In the other post, Corpsegrinder cradles an abundance of plushies from his local Walmart claw game. Acting as the local festive gift-giver, the Hammer Smashed Face vocalist is donating the stuffed animals to charities.

"The last two trips to my local Walmart with [wife Stacy Alourdas-Fisher] have been very productive! More stuffed animals for donations!!! Happy Holidays!!" he shared.

Corpsegrinder shared his plushie-winning strategy in an interview with Metal Hammer. "I play the claw. I'm like a kid at Disney; I'm looking what's in there, and then I'm looking at how it's sitting inside of there. Is there something on top of it? Do I have to move that?," the vocalist enthused. 

"So one time we were at a Flying J truck stop, and they had Disney characters in the claw machines - it was one of the bigger ones. I swear to you on my children, I won four of them in one shot - it was some UFO one. I walked away and people, were, like, ‘Holy crap!’"

He added, "Another time, we were in Walmart around Christmas time. I’d won some stuff, but there was this kid who hadn’t. I was, like, ‘Here, you can have mine.’ The parents were, like, ‘Really?’ The mom was tearing up. I was, like, ‘Don’t do that, you’re gonna make me do it too.’ She was, like, ‘Why would you do that?’ I said, ‘Well, because I’m gonna donate them anyway.’"

Discussing the donations, he said, "I just like to play the claw machines. I save up quarters, and when I win we gonna donate them for kids for Christmastime."

"I think most people understand that horror movies, novels, and violent video games are made by people who do not promote actual violence," Cannibal Corpse bassist Alex Webster told Kill Your Stereo. "Unfortunately, they seem to have a harder time understanding the same could be true of a musician who makes death metal, which is basically a type of 'horror music'. This may be because a song's lyrics are often considered to be a reflection of the artist's emotions. This isn't really the case with our lyrics, they are basically short horror stories put to music."
