Doja Cat's Red Reign Continues With Third Week At #1

Doja Cat continues to Paint the Town Red with her current #1 single in Australia...

...plus she also seems to be turning the planet red too, as the track climbs to the top in England and Canada, remains at the #1 for a second week in Ireland, here for a third week, and holds for a fourth stay in New Zealand, while it climbs to a new peak of #3 in both The U.S.A. (LW-5) and Germany (LW-9). Plus it's been announced that her new album is due on the 22nd of September, called Scarlet, the same week that Kylie Minogue and Drake issue new sets too. 

Paint the Town Red also increased its sales lead this week too, now the seventh highest weekly selling song for 2023, plus her new single Demons debuts this week at #77. The #1 track is also the first of six songs which don't move within the Top 10 this week, with Taylor Swift at #2 for a second week with Cruel Summer, which also climbs to a new peak of #2 in England and #3 in New Zealand, dips one spot to #3 in Canada and to #5 in The U.S.A. (HP-3).

Morgan Wallen's Last Night track remains at #3 and is the longest running Top 10 entry at 28 weeks within the ten, the equal twelfth longest run of all time in Australia, after which are the first of two single-place-swaps as Dua Lipa with her Barbie soundtrack entry Dance the Night is back up one spot to #4, swapping places with Sprinter for Dave and Central Cee, down one place to #5. 

The next two non-movers are Fast Car for Luke Combs at #6 and vampire for Olivia Rodrigo at #7, with her second studio album Guts issued on Friday, so we might get ten more OliviaR tracks next week along with the albums first two Top 10 entry in this former #1 (July 10th) along with this weeks #24 entry bad idea right? (HP-10, August 21st). The sixth and final stable Top 10 entry is at #10 this week, as The Weeknd with Ariana Grande hold with their duet of Die for You, while his latest track Popular with Playboi Carti and Madonna is up one spot to a new peak of #8, swapping places with the other Barbie entry for Billie Eilish and What Was I Made for?, down one to #9. 

TOP 20

NEW PEAKS: The new #1 debut in The U.S.A. and #2 in Canada this week is the Zach Bryan and Kasey Musgraves entry here last week I Remember Everything, which locally jumps up eight places to score a new peak of #11 (NZ new peak of #19), while his 60 week charting entry Something in the Orange remains on hold at its peak of #12 for a third straight week. 

The remix by cassö x RAYE x D-Block Europe of Prada leaps up thirteen places this week to land at a new peak of #18, with the track the new #1 Dance Singles Chart holder locally, plus it climbs to a new chart height in England of #7, dips one spot to #3 in Ireland and debuts at #36 in New Zealand this week. 

The other non-mover within the Top 20 this week is David Kushner with Daylight, while the only other rise within this chart region is former #1 Flowers for Miley Cyrus, as Spring hits down under, it climbs back up through the chart-dirt to sprout at #14, while her new entry from last week Used to Be Young drops down seven places to sit at #20. 

TOP 30

Troye Sivan being in the country and also issuing a new remix of his latest single Rush last week with PinkPantheress and Hyunjin (from Stray Kids) as guest artists, sees the song rush back up fourteen places this week to #21, also jumping to a new peak in England (33 to #22), rebounding in Ireland (21 to #16, HP-8), re-entering in New Zealand (#37), while his third album Something to Give Each Other is due for release on October 13th. 

Troye is the highest of three Aussie acts within the Top 50 this week, overtaking Vance Joy and Riptide, which drops back down four places to #28, with the biggest demise within the Top 30 being a six places drop to #26 for JungKook and Latto with Seven, while on hold here at #25 is the Post Malone entry Chemical. 

TOP 40

Harry Styles has the only stable entry within the forty, as his former #1 As it Was remains at #32 this week, while moving back up three places each are Boy's a Liar (pt.2) for PinkPantheress and Ice Spice, (it goes like) Nanana for Peggy Gou (#1 Club Single) and Someone You Loved by Lewis Capaldi to #36, #37 and #38 respectively, followed by the biggest drop within the Top 50 this week, down thirteen places to #39 is last week's entry for Selena Gomez and Single Soon. 

TOP 50

Three 100+WI entries are back-to-back this week, starting with Dreams by Fleetwood Mac, down five places to #41 (WI-155),which could rebound next week thanks to their new Rumours Live album issued on Friday Sept. 8th, then come The Killers with Mr. Brightside (WI-167) up four spots to #42 and finally The Weeknd with Blinding Lights (WI-196) is back up one spot to #43. Declining slightly are Style for Taylor Swift (42 to #45) and Telekinesis by Travis Scott with SZA and Future (43 to #47). 

NEW ENTRIES:
* #44 - Strangers by Kenya Grace (Major Recordings/Warner) is the first chart entry and release for the British singer who earlier this year saw her track Meteor go viral, while the new entry has also landed first week at #20 in England, #17 in Germany, #18 in The Netherlands  and #30 in Ireland. 

* #46 - Tension by Kylie Minogue (Darenote/BMG UK) is the title track from the September 22nd due sixteenth studio album for the Aussie singer, with this track scoring the highest new entry in England this week (#19), along with a #34 entry in Ireland. The track is the follow-up to the albums first issued single Padam Padam (HP-19), which after two weeks outside of the Top 100 returns at #76 this week. The week her album is issued she is up against new sets from both Drake and Doja Cat, so we'll have to wait for the October 3rd chart to see who wins the Albums race that week.
