Doja Cat Holds Sixth Week At #1 With ‘Paint The Town Red’

It's a sixth straight week at #1 for Doja Cat's Paint the Town Red, as her new album lands Top 5. 

Scarlet for Doja Cat debuts at #5 on the ARIA Albums Chart this week, becoming her second Top 5 album, with her previous set Planet Her peaking at #2 in it's nineteenth chart week (it debut at #3 initially), while the album's current hit Paint the Town Red and it's sixth week at #1 here becomes one of eight songs this decade to have racked up six weeks at the top, and with the track polling almost twice as many figures as the second placed entry, the song should hold for a few more weeks yet. 

Paint the Town Red also claims the top spot again on the Hip-Hop/R&B Singles chart, plus holds the #1 slot in New Zealand (7th week), England and Canada (both 4th week), losing the top spot in both Ireland and The U.S.A. to drop to #2, while it's #4 in Germany. The album Scarlet has so far placed highest in New Zealand (#2), while it also entered at #5 in England, #4 in Norway, #6 in The Netherlands and #13 in Ireland, while an extra track from the album is one of the two debuts within the Top 50 this week. .

Last week the Kenya Grace track Strangers jumped to #2 in New Zealand, where it holds again this week, while locally the track is up four places to match that #2 position (No.1 Dance Single), also scoring a third #2 this week in England (LW-3), holds at #5 in Ireland and Germany, jumps in Canada (46 to #21) and finally debuts in The U.S.A. (#88). This is followed by another new peak as last week's highest new entry for Tate McRae and greedy is up two spots to land at #3, the same position it holds in New Zealand, plus it's also holding it's #4 entry spot in Ireland, moving to a new peak in England of #5 and debuts in Canada (#10) and The U.S.A. (#33).

The third and final new peak within the Top 10 this week is Prada for cassö x RAYE x D-Block Europe, which jumps up three places to land at #5, while the song takes out the #1 slot in Ireland and moves to a new peak of #3 in England, holds it's #2 peak in Germany, jumps again in New Zealand (30 to #21) and debuts in Canada (#98). Taylor Swift dips one spot to #4 with her Cruel Summer track, while vampire for Olivia Rodrigo drops down four spots to #6 after sinking its teeth into the #2 spot for the past two weeks thanks to her new album Guts which is down to #2 this week after Kylie Minogue took out this week's #1 Album spot with Tension. 

The longest running Top 10 entry this week racks up its 31st week within the ten, Last Night for Morgan Wallen, which is down three spots to #7 and now the equal ninth-longest running Top 10 entry in Australian Chart History. Dua Lipa and Dance the Night are down one place to #8, and with it scoring a tenth week within the Top 10 it's the longest running entry within the ten from the Barbie soundtrack. This is followed by the second and third non-movers within the Top 10 this week, Sprinter for Dave and Central at #9 and Fast Car by Luke Combs at #1, which is scoring its half-year chart anniversary (26 weeks). 

TOP 20: 

Spending a fourth straight week at #11 is the Zach Bryan and Kasey Musgraves track I Remember Everything, while the song jumps to that same position in New Zealand (LW-19), with the track still embedded within the Top 10 in both The U.S.A. (#5) and Canada (#6). Rising back up three places apiece are Popular for The Weeknd, Something in the Orange for Zach Bryan, Calm Down for Rema and Selena Gomez, along with Flowers for Miley Cyrus  to #12, #13, #14 and #15 respectively. 

Returning to the Top 20 are Daylight for David Kushner (22 to #17) and Riptide by Vance Joy (24 to #20), which are all rising due to the dramatic drop-down's of the Olivia Rodrigo entries for two weeks ago with her two final Top 50 entries this week being bad idea right? (13 to #16) and get him back! (14 to #18). 

TOP 30:

Leaving the Top 20 for the first time since it entered it on July 17th is the Gunna track FukUMean, down one spot to #21, with the two other Top 30 declines being Snooze for SZA (21 to 26) and The Kind of Love We Make by Luke Combs to #29, with the non-mover here being OneRepublic with I Ain't Worried at #27. 

Nicki Minaj rises back up to #23 with Barbie World, followed by a seven place rebound to #24 for the Troye Sivan track Rush, which is joined in the Top 50 this week by his new track, also the highest new entry of the week. Taylor's Anti-Hero and Post Malone's Chemical tracks both move up one spot each to #25 and #28 respectively, while Harry Styles' As it Was is back up four to #30 and scoring it's one-a-and-a-half-years (78 weeks) within the chart (it hasn't dropped any lower than #41). 

TOP 40:

The new #1 debut in The U.S.A. this past week was last week's entry here for Drake with SZA and Slime You Out, which here the song drops twenty-one spots to land at #33 after entering at #12 last week, plus it scored at #2 debut in Canada also. The track could rebound when his album comes out in two weeks time. On hold at #36 is Dreams for Fleetwood Mac, while the group sees two further songs return to the Top 100 in Everywhere (#94, last within the Top 100 October 26th, 2020) and Go Your Own Way (#97).

Jumping up thirty-five places to land at #40 is a lower fifty entry from last week called Water for newcomer Tyla, the sixth issued single for the South African artist and her first worldwide hit, with the song leaping in New Zealand (10 to #5), England (24 to #16), Ireland (38 to #29) and peaking in The Netherlands (#14), Sweden (#24) and her home country (#20). 

TOP 50: 

Lewis Capaldi is back up six places to #41 with Someone You Loved, while Taylor Swift swaps places within herself as Style is up one to #45 (and logging one-accumulated-year within the Top 100) and Karma which dips one spot to #46. Down six places to #43 is the other Top 50 entry for Miley Cyrus and Used to Be Young, while The Weeknd has a seven place decline to #50 with Save Your Tears. 

NEW ENTRIES:

* #31 - Got Me Started - Troye Sivan (EMI Australia) is the second track lifted from the October 13th due third studio album for the local singer called Something to Give Each Other, with initial single Rush debuting and peaking at #12 upon entry (July 24th, TW-24). The new track has a small sample of the song Shooting Stars for Bag Raiders (HP-38, peaked late August 2013), while the new track has also debuted in Ireland (#43) and England (#56). 

* #35 - Agora Hills - Doja Cat (Kemosabe/RCA) is taken from her new album Scarlet, which enters at #5 this week, while this track is an ode to her time as a child in Agoura Hills in Santa Monica, California where she lived in an ashram commune. It serves also as the fourth charted track from the album after the current #1 song Paint the Town Red, recent entries Demons (HP-77, Sept. 11th), Attention (HP-30, June 26th) and Balut (didn't crack the Top 100), while no further tracks from the new album have landed within the Top 100 this week. This song contains a sample of the 1990 U.S. #1 R&B single by Troop called All I Do is Think of You, originally performed by the Jackson 5 in 1975.

* #51 - ONE MORE TIME - Blink-182 (Viking Wizard Eyes/Columbia) is the title track and second single issued from the forthcoming ninth studio album due on October 20th, with the sets first issued song being the October 24th, 2022 entry EDGING (HP-50), with this new entry becoming their nineteenth Top 100 entry since their first in 1996 with Wasting Time (HP-90).
