The 2024 Queensland Music Awards are coming soon – Wednesday, 17 April, at Brisbane’s Fortitude Music Hall and today, the nominees for this year’s awards have been revealed.
In addition to the music genre categories, voting for the People’s Choice Awards – powered by Oztix and The Music – is now open, giving punters the opportunity to vote for their favourite music venues and festivals.
Voting closes at midnight on Wednesday, 13 March. Make your vote here to be in the running to win a double pass to attend Queensland music’s night of nights. Tickets to attend the 2024 Queensland Music Awards are on sale now via the QMusic website.
Onto the nominees: the Queensland Music Awards covers all sorts of genres, including pop, heavy, country, children’s music, blues and roots, electronic, folk, hip-hop, jazz and more.
Pop group Cub Sport have received nominations in two categories – Pop Award and Electronic Award, while The Jungle Giants have been nominated for Best Video and Electronic Award.

The Queensland Music Awards have nominated veteran artists, including Kevin Borich and Busby Marou, in the Blues & Roots category while showcasing some of the best new artists, including James Johnston and Tori Forsyth (Country Award), heavier acts including Wildheart and Caligula’s Horse, and many more.
The People’s Choice Metro Venue of the Year nominations include the Fortitude Music Hall, The Tivoli, The Triffid, Eatons Hill Hotel, Sandstone Point Hotel and The Zoo, amongst others, while the People’s Choice Festival of the Year nominations are Gympie Music Muster, Sweet Relief!, Tablelands Folk Festival, The Battle of the ROCK Bands and ΩHM.
