Gothic country comes to The Cave Inn this February as Qld's most depressing mineral export, Suicide Country Hour team up with Melburnian and ex- Spoils frontman Sean Simmons as well as local heart – throbs Lucy and Greg. Having released their brilliant new single “Five Things” at the end of 2024, Cave Inn favourites and cosmic heartbreakers, Suicide Country Hour perform in intimate trio mode while Sean Simmons makes his way back to the Sunshine State with his songs of love, loss and redemption ably assisted by guitarist Jon Shannon.  During the mid 2000’s Sean resided in Bris-vegas while his band The Spoils recorded their 2nd album, “Goodnight Victoria” a post card love letter to their home state. A time that saw The Spoils grace QLD stages with the likes Bonnie Prince Billy, Calexico, and Catpower as well as local heroes The Gin Club and Gentle Ben & his Sensitive Side et al. Rounding out the night are Lucy & Greg of Cosmic Cowboy & the Incognitos.A little bit like Tom Waits, if Tom Waits didn't have a really cool gravely voice, only sang simple songs with very few words, and sang mostly country songs.
