Siddhi Sagar Prajapati, widely known as Kuma Sagar, is a rising Nepali singer and songwriter celebrated for blending traditional Newa melodies with modern music. Born and raised in Bhaktapur, his journey into music began at a dafa, where he accompanied his grandfather to play traditional instruments like the Khing baja. Early exposure to Newa bhajans and community music fueled his passion for the craft.
The Voice of Nepal in 2019 became a turning point. Though he didn’t win, the experience ignited his determination to create original music.
Sagar is celebrated for revitalizing Malla-era melodies and traditional instruments like the Dha, Flute, and Bhusyah. His music celebrates Newa culture, bringing vibrancy to festivals and jatras.
