HATCHLING ‘Russian Roulette’ Single Launch

This February, I’ll be taking the stage at Buddy’s Bar to play Hatchling’s first set in what feels like forever, celebrating my first single 'Russian Roulette' from my new debut album. “Russian Roulette is a song I wrote classically in lockdown when I didn’t have much of a storyline going on for myself. I conjured up a fictional narrative instead, drawing some inspiration from my teenage years of dabbling in rebellion. I think a lot of people may relate to the sentiment of feeling a little lost, whether it was when we were younger or even where we are now in life"

Hatchling blends the raw emotion of folk, the cathartic energy of blues rock and the distinct lyrical flair of western Americana. The music is emotionally charged, often stemming from a confessional yet confrontational alter ego. While Hatchling forms deeply personal narratives in her songwriting, the concepts become relatable through clever lyricism, juxtaposing strength and vulnerability, capturing her consistent journey of self exploration and growth as a being.
