Brighton based artist Bess Atwell has announces some very special Australian tour dates in March 2025. Marking her first time down under, Bess Atwell will perform intimate shows, gracing stages in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane, alongside her appearances at WOMAD and Port Fairy Folk Festival.
Fans will experience favourite tracks from critically acclaimed Already, Always as well as material from her most recent album Light Sleeper, produced by The National’s Aaron Dessner.
Bess Atwell will be heading to Oxford Arts Factory in Sydney on 6 March, Melbourne’s Howler on 12 March and Black Bear Lodge in Brisbane on 14 March.
Released in 2021, Atwell’s release Always, Already placed her at the forefront of the British folk scene, and now sits at over 28 million streams on Spotify. Released during lockdown, its themes of longing, connection and mortality resonated deeply with listeners around the globe.
2024’s Light Sleeper saw Bess grapple with her recent diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder, allowing for a newfound sense of clarity and opportunity for reflection. Described as “poignant” and “dreamlike” by The Guardian, Atwell assembled her third album with well-known producer and musician Aaron Dessner of The National.
Bess dissects the complexity of the human experience with delicate vocals and unmatched lyrical depth. Her exploration of trauma, mental health issues, relationships and loneliness makes for a deeply personal and melancholic sound.
Join Bess Atwell for an immersive night of ethereal alt-folk as she comes to a city near you.
