More Fractures More Fractures

If you're yet to be introduced to Melbourne-based producer Fractures, allow us to quickly get you up to speed. He's been a rising force amongst the local electronica world for a while now, whether it's in the centre spotlight - he put out his debut album, Still Here, back in 2017 amongst performances at Splendour In The Grass and more - or behind-the-scenes, working as a part of Emma Louise's touring band and working with names varying from Katz and Yeo to Lane 8 and Airling.

Now, however, after spending years refining his craft and growing into something special at home, he's branching out - and becoming quite the international export as he goes. As it seems, Fractures is the next musician to join a long line of Australians to branch out into international waters, with his last EP for example - Reset, arriving earlier this year - seeing him join US mega-tastemaker The FADER and their label imprint FADER Label, distributed through Australia via Universal Music arm Caroline Australia.

His latest single Chains sees him double-down on this rising feat, teaming up with Pennsylvania popstar-on-the-rise ROZES as he taps into one of pop music's greatest newcoming collaborators. She worked with The Chainsmokers on their chart-topping, year-defining hit Roses and has since worked with everyone from Big Gigantic and Galantis to Sam Feldt and Just A Gent, with Fractures being the next name to take her on board and with it, blossom into a new force defining our electronic scene abroad.

Chains, on the surface, has everything needed to become a big, multi-continent break-out moment for Fractures. It reduces his electronic subtleties to just a shading, emphasising the pop mannerisms that have floated amongst his past work as he takes a dive into the deep end of swirling, electronic-tinged pop, with ROZES aiding perfectly in bringing this to life. "Pop music influences a lot of my decisions no matter what music I write especially in my melodies," says the Melbourne musician on the track. "My collaboration with ROZES on Chains really exemplifies this. There’s a power in her voice that’s undeniable and in my case, inimitable, and the combination of the two of us adds a dimension to my music that I haven’t explored enough."
