L-Fresh The Lion kicked off 2016 brilliantly with the release of Hold Up, a single featuring Remi and the follow-up to his fiery mid-2015 anthem, Get Mine featuring Parvyn Kaur Singh. After bursting onto the scene a short few years ago, L-Fresh has gone from strength to strength, with no signs of slowing down. Today he reveals the video accompaniment to 1 in 100,000, the latest release from forthcoming album Become. The clip sees L-Fresh team up with a young Sikh warrior tangled in a ferocious fight with the shadowy manifestations of personal demons, as L-Fresh himself explains: "The song and the video highlight a journey of becoming. It’s about facing the darkest parts of yourself, coming to terms with them, and then realising your strength and capacity to do great things. It’s the journey we all experience in life."

"We go through challenges, life tests us in many ways, and we take on those challenges in the process of realising our dreams, so we can become who we’ve always wanted to be."

To bring the story to the screen, L-Fresh worked with director Alex Weltlinger and martial arts group AKAAL Fauj, in a visual call-to-arms matching the lyricism of the track in its strength and confidence – a difficult feat to achieve. Just as Get Mine was unapologetically political, delving into themes of systemic racism, 1 in 100,000  shies away from nothing, instead pushing back at the idea of being pushed down. While much of it references personal demons and an internal struggle to overcome them, there's an overt nod to offshore processing and mandatory detention of refugees carried out by the Australian government, and the apathy that shrouds the issue. 1 in 100,000 also sees L-Fresh exploring new and untouched forms of music-making in the context of heritage, using Indian influences in innovative ways that gel perfectly with hip-hop stylings.

The second full-length album from L-Fresh The Lion, titled Become and produced by Michael McGlynn, is set to drop on the 13th of May, but the momentum doesn't stop there – you can also catch him on tour supporting Urthboy over the months of May and June, with a full list of dates below. It looks to be a massive year for the rising star, with 1 in 100,000  line "I'm not in it for the sprint, I'm in it for the marathon" ringing true on a whole new level.
