The band's new album is out today!
It’s a good day to be a Rocket Science fan, with the Australian alt-rock outfit today unleashing their first new album in 10 years, Snake, alongside a new music video for single Cheers Pinger, the latter of which we have the pleasure of premiering.
Cheers Pinger, as described by the band, is “a spacious wordplay that takes you into one of the developed world’s most common illegal pastimes”, and its accompanying music video was directed and edited by Chris Flagz Matthews, who has previously worked with the likes of Tropical Fuck Storm, Cable Ties and more.
On their extended break, Rocket Science told The Music: "We never had an actual conversation about ceasing activity after touring the 2008 album. We just kinda… stopped. I think we just got tired. The first jam back was tentative but electric.
“The sound was still there and hearing it again made us remember why we were so jazzed about it all back at the start. We decided fairly quickly after getting back together that making new music was what interested us the most so we slowly set about interpreting Romans newly formed ideas."
Snake is out now via It Records; check out theGuide for all upcoming tour dates in support.
