The master rocker will release his keenly awaited new album in just over a week.
Stalwart Aussie artist Machine Translations — also known as J Walker, or Greg Walker if you're being formal — is set to release a killer new full-length, Oh, this month, and ahead of its arrival he's gifted The Music with the premiere look at the awesome animated clip for fresh track Sola.
Created by Walker's old friend Jonathan Nix, the video takes a twisted, frequently psychedelic look at the digital device revolution — and ensuing addiction — that has taken over our daily lives, for better and worse. The end result is super cool and a perfect accompaniment to the tune's infectious discord.
"We share a lot of musical and artistic roots," Walker said of bringing Nix aboard to craft the film clip. "He really loved the song and it was a real luxury to be able to give him total free rein with it, as I knew he'd do something amazing."
Sola follows recent single Parliament Of Spiders in setting the stage for Oh's release, due on Friday 10 November through revered indie label Spunk Records. The follow-up to 2013's The Bright Door, the album stands as a focused growth of Walker's previous work, with a particular eye on being as direct as possible in his compositions.

"My whole thing with this record was to keep things more elemental and immediate," he said.
Machine Translations will be playing a run of shows this month in celebration of the record's landing, kicking off at Brighton Up Bar in Sydney on Thursday 9 November, and heading on to additional dates in Thirroul, Melbourne and Castlemaine.
