Local indie pop singer-songwriter EDIE turns vampire slayer in the new music video for her latest single - take a first watch.
After releasing her latest single Villain a few weeks ago, Boorloo/Perth’s EDIE is back with a bloody, vampire-themed music video, premiering on Pilerats today.
Co-written with Siobhan Cotchin and Dylan Ollivierre (The Money War), Villain is a driving, anthemic cut of indie pop with a fuzzy, punk rock injection upping the energy. A playfully sinister take on getting revenge on an ex, EDIE explains "'Villain' explores post-heartbreak frustration and the selfish desire for your ex to feel the same pain as you do. This song highlights how sometimes you have to make someone the villain to be able to move on."
To round out the Villain package, EDIE linked up with in-demand director and photographer of the moment, Stephanie Senior, to direct and produce the story driven, light-hearted video. Starring EDIE as a vampire hunter, the clip sees her lure the antagonist vampire as she plots her revenge that she exacts in a bloody, joyous manner.
