"This cinematic picture reflects a step up in creative production."
With their latest music video, Sydney outfit Eagle Eye Jones project “questions of purpose and presence through moments of self-reflection”.
Inspired by a near-death experience from band member Luke Saunders in the Nepalese Himalayas, Alpine Meadows is the group’s first new music in 18 months and has been described as “a soaring anthemic journey that fluently blends alternative rock, shoegaze, and ambient into an all-encompassing, cinematic experience”.
“Filmed through the baron landscapes and perimeters of Kosciuszko National Park, we pay respect to the traditional owners of the land we produced this film on, the Walgal People,” Eagle Eye Jones told The Music.
“The viewer travels with Mahalia on an emotive journey through the myriad peaks and valleys of human existence, this cinematic picture reflects a step up in creative production that meets the incredible growth of Eagle Eye Jones.
“Vast shots spanning across the beautiful and seemingly limitless landscapes of rural NSW juxtaposed against the rapid tight shots of alpine forests and tumulus, water in motion, these scenes depict the struggle of human nature against the impacts of anthropocentric activity. Reaching a point of total exhaustion, the conclusion projects questions of purpose and presence through moments of self-reflection.”
