Veteran Perth hip hop trio Downsyde are set to release their long-awaited fifth studio album, ClassicIll, this year after more than eight years between drinks, and theMusic.com.au is stoked to be premiering the clip for new single Richman to help pass the time.
The song, which features the guest talents of Moondog and Imposter, follows last year's comeback cut Only Got Now, the band's first release since 2008 LP All City and its singles, Life Speed and Fortune & Fame. Group member Optamus produced the beat with Imposter, with additional backing vocals provided by singer Georgie Dee.
The animated clip is the product of a collaboration with award-winning Sydney studio Motionlab, its simple but striking style providing a colourful visual accompaniment to the song's polished, modern beats.
ClassicIll was originally scheduled for release last year, but its unveiling was delayed till later this year — its release date is expected to be announced soon. Until then, enjoy the clip and give the boys some love on Facebook to stay on top of their upcoming movements and announcements.
