"Our videos are not merely translations of songs made by hearing people. They tell their own unique, first-hand stories."
Alt-synth six-piece Alter Boy have shared the brand new video for their single Act Of God, premiering exclusively with The Music today.
The track is a taste of their forthcoming debut EP of the same name, due for release Friday, 10 September.
A group that champions inclusivity and positivity, the band features members of the transgender, disabled and deaf/hard-of-hearing communities, creating audio-visual experiences that are specially curated for said communities.
The video for Act Of God showcases the incredible combination of Auslan and interpretative dance into one spectacular visual, adding spectacular layers to the lyrics of the track.
"Auslan music videos are imperative because they are the only access point for so many members of the deaf community," vocalist Molly/Aaron explained.
"Our videos are not merely translations of songs made by hearing people. They tell their own unique, first-hand stories.

"This music video tells this story from the perspective of our Signer, Jack, and if viewers don’t know Auslan, they miss out on the opportunity to understand the full breadth of this story. That’s important because deaf people miss out all the time."
The band are also heading out on tour this September and October to celebrate the launch of the new EP. They'll hit up Melbourne, Sydney, Wollongong, Lismore, Hyden, Busselton and Fremantle.
