Sunny Dial of 'BONEZ' tells us their 'Queer Artists To Watch' to kick off Pride Month
For anyone who doesn't know (are you living under a rock?) BONEZ Alternative Queer Party is an event that is VERY quickly taking over the country. The night marries the emo & queer communities, making for the ULTIMATE party. Starting in Melbourne, BONEZ has since expanded to Sydney & has an upcoming date in Adelaide. Where next you might ask? Keep your eyes peeled.
The night starting usually from 8, will have bands/artists playing that includes members of the queer community. Following the live performances we have a host coming in to bring your a range of Drag & Burlesque shows! We move from there into lip synchs where ANYONE can get involved (yes - YOU!) and finish dancing to all your favourite emo bangers from a queer DJ! HOW. FUN???
With free pronoun pins for all on entry, it's a completely safe space for any and all and you will feel welcomed from the first minute & free to be whoever you are.
Sunny Dial (she/they) started BONEZ & given she has exposure to queer alternative bands all across the country, we asked their thoughts on who to keep an eye out for to kick off pride month & here is what she had to say:
FIVE ISLAND DRIVE (Sydney)
I can’t stop listening to this band at the moment!
They have an incredible heavy sound and I love the vibe and energy that Frankie, their lead singer brings to the band as proud trans person.

PLATONIC SEX (Brisbane)
I saw these legends recently supporting Hope D and they instantly caught my attention.
Wholesome catchy songs and Indie Queer vibes. We love to see it.
DADDY ISSUES (Melbourne)
The most exciting Grunge band fresh to the Melbourne scene.
They’re a band I connect with musically but more so with their fun, engaging live show.
PENI PARKER (Sydney)
I adore a band who’s authentically themselves and that it shines through everything they do, their music, their content and their live show... and that’s Peni Parker.
It was a pleasure to have them at Sydney BONEZ and I cant wait to see what they do next.
TIN POT CLAY MAN (Melbourne)
TPCM’s sound is a mix of 80’s Post Punk and Indie Rock with songs influenced by their lead singers experience as a Queer person of colour.
Their live show is so fun and engaging, it feels like you’re at a festival.
Highly recommend seeing this band live.
