We hope you're in the mood for some sweet, sweet indie-dream-folk goodness, because The Winter Gypsy have served up a gorgeous slice of ethereal elegance with their new single Bojke ('boy-ke'), and we're pretty dang thrilled to be hosting its premiere today.
Following on from the Adelaide sextet's lovely debut EP, Page I, the hushed, enchanting tune is named in honour of a beloved family dog who passed away earlier this year, vocalist Tushar Singh explaining in a statement:
"The title is an ode to our bassist and his brother's dog who passed away this year; her name was Bojke. At the time, I had written out these lyrics in a narrative sense, not necessarily written about anyone in particular. The song had absolutely no relation to me, but I could feel that it could relate to someone else.
"A few weeks after I wrote the song, Bojke had passed away. I instantly linked Bojke to the lyrics in this song and it was strange but so fitting as to how much these lyrics I had written weeks in advance had related to the incident. I asked the two brothers if I could name the song after her, and they said yes.”

Bojke is set for release this coming Monday, 5 June, and the band is set to launch the single on a brief run of shows from 23 June, when they kick off at The World Bar, Sydney, before heading on to play gigs in Melbourne and Adelaide.
According to Singh, the band try to "bring a bit more to our live performances than you hear in our recordings", which — given how enjoyable said recordings are, should see audiences in for a truly delightful experience indeed.
"We definitely are more upbeat at our live shows, and you can expect trumpet, soaring instrumentals and a range of vibes," he said. "We're very excited for our next tour."
