"The shortest yet potentially catchiest Uglys song to date.”
Perth surf rockers Pretty Uglys have returned with a brand new single, premiering right here exclusively with The Music.
A track that offers a much needed sense of optimism in this day and age, the band explained that the tune was smashed out almost as quickly as it takes them to play it.
“Your Shade is written around the topic of not letting other people's negativity get you down, which you can be faced with in everyday places whether that be out somewhere or at work," they said of the tune.
"‘Your Shade won’t be finding me, not today there’s no way' directly relates to this. It’s also currently the shortest track we have written and is one of the most fun to play live."
The band continued, saying the song was "a track that started as a vocal melody and chorus idea which Jaxon was messing with and recorded onto his phone though the GarageBand app. Evolving from there into jam sessions the boys came up with the bridge section, lyrics were completed and the funky intro drum beat was created. This gave birth to the shortest yet potentially catchiest Uglys song to date."
