Aussie blues/roots luminary Owen Campbell is about to hit the road for a massive east-coast tour in support of recently released third studio album, Breathing Bullets, and to commemorate the news, The Music is stoked to be premiering new single Rise for the the acclaimed singer-songwriter.
A rumination on the acceptance of defeat and finding the strength to move on, Rise is a warm and emotive piece that beautifully showcases Campbell's wistful, welcoming vocals atop deceptively dexterous guitar, understated piano and minimalist percussion.
"We're all so afraid of death and change, but sometimes it's what is needed, like the shedding of a skin," Campbell ruminates on the tune's theme.
Campbell has spent the past five years walking the walk around the globe following his controversial breakthrough on Australia's Got Talent back in 2012, now a fully fledged performer with a raft of YouTube hits and album sales to his name as well as a career history that has taken him to stages in the US, Europe and Japan.

It's the kind of resume that has seen the singer-songwriter sign a deal with bookings/management agency Beats Cartel, who are hoping to re-establish Campbell's local presence following his extended overseas sojourns and stints in the studio.
"I'm very excited to be hitting the road again, have had too much time off writing recently," Campbell said in a statement. "The band and I have been working on a cracking set! Also stoked to be working with Beats Cartel... exciting times ahead."
To that end, Campbell will set off for his extensive east-coaster from Saturday 1 July, getting under way at Port Macquarie's Tapp Bar and heading on to venues in Newcastle, Brisbane, the Gold Coast, Goodna, the Sunshine Coast, Peregian Beach, Coogee Beach, Gloucester, Old Bar, Narooma, Huskisson, Cowra, Harrington, Budgewoi, Canberra, Sydney, Thirroul, Winsdor and Newcastle, where he rounds out at the Foghorn Brewery on Sunday 13 August.
