"We couldn’t think of an act on the scene we’d be happier to team with than Dumb Things.”
It’s a big week for Brisbane indie rock outfit Dumb Things who announce their signing to Coolin’ By Sound as they unleash a new single.
Premiered today via The Music, Today Tonight follows on from the band’s debut self-titled album two years ago and promises big things from their forthcoming second LP, Time Again, while channelling the likes of The Go-Betweens, The Apartments, Dick Diver, Twerps and more.
“I’ve loved the band ever since I saw them play a really early slot at Sonic Masala Fest a couple of years ago, and they’ve just gone from strength to strength ever since,” Coolin’ By Sound co-owner Steve Bell said of the signing.
“There’s so many great bands in Brisbane and SEQ at the moment, as always, but we couldn’t think of an act on the scene we’d be happier to team with than Dumb Things.”
Time Again is due for release this October, with Coolin’ By Sound releasing worldwide, while Spanish label Bobo Integral and French tape label Hidden Bay have been confirmed to release in those regions.
Dumb Things will embark on their inaugural Australian East Coast tour later this month; check out theGuide for all the details.
