Last month, British producer and Australian festival favourite Tourist welcomed Apollo, a charging, percussion-driven house tune that showcased a bit of different side to the producer as he strives towards his long-teased next release. Piloted by a Jon Hopkins-esque pulse that added a warped experimentalism to Tourist's otherwise signature percussive house sound, it was the first single we heard from the musician since his 2017 EP Wash and one that showed an exciting new edge to his music, promising that he's not going anywhere in the wait for album number two.

Today, we premiere the visuals for Apollo, visuals that see Tourist join forces with prestigious British photographer and artist Nigel Shafran for a clip that is minimalist yet eerily captivating, filmed entirely within his home. "I am a huge fan of Nigel’s work, and to have collaborated with him on the visuals for this new music has been a true privilege," says Tourist on the video, which arrives as he joins the hefty line-up for Sydney's Days Like This Festival in March 2019. "I suppose this video reflects on the space where I work and live. Nigel came over, we had some coffee, we talked, he shot some videos and then he decided to play my music to me whilst filming me. You can see how uncomfortable this makes me feel, and I guess there is something quite interesting about that."

"Apollo is a piece of music that hopefully inspires reflection and reverie," Tourist continues. "I love the idea that music can 'take' you to places, and that’s what this is to me when I listen back to it." Watch the video below.
