More Beddy Rays More Beddy Rays

As far as summer belters go, Beddy Rays’ latest single, Too Much (Is Too Much), really has it all, including a “Russell Coight-esque” video, premiering today via The Music.

The chaotic and playful narrative of the clip follows the band as they have car troubles on the beach, through to being chased by Bigfoot and attacked by Australian wildlife.

"We came up with the idea of doing a Russell Coight-esque style clip and with that came the idea of shooting the clip whilst going camping at Double Island Point. Two birds, one stone! We hope you have as much fun watching it as we did making it"

"Too Much (Is Too Much) is the next summer belter that talks about the excesses and pressures of modern life and how it can become too much: too much work, too much stress, too much information, too much expectation, too much competition, consumption, and so on,” frontman Jackon Van Issum said.

“[The song] expresses the frustration and desire to escape from this overwhelming and chaotic world and just let your hair down and enjoy the little things in life like being around the ones you love in your favourite places.”

It’s the third track to be released in 2023 by Beddy Rays, with Bored and Rhythms released earlier in the year.

Beddy Rays have wasted no time in making an impact, with their fully independent debut album released in July 2022 achieving #1 Vinyl and #2 Australian Album on the ARIA charts. They were then nominated for 'Breakthrough Artist' at the ARIA Awards and Handful scored #83 in triple j Hottest 100. They were also nominated for Album of the Year at the National Indigenous Music Awards.

The group will round out the year with a “carton-sized” regional tour with The Terrys through December and January, including festivals NYE On The Hill in Victoria, and The Great Escape Festival in Tasmania on New Year’s Eve.
