Their second album Home Life was celebrated in true HMF style - loosely..
Adelaide trio Horror My Friend are lowkey one of Australia's best fucking bands and we don't talk about them enough. It's easy for the Australan music community at large (ourselves included) to get all dough-eyed with bands that talk about bongs, beaches and banter, but Horror My Friend bring an energy and sound wholly unique in the Australian punk-rock scene, and their latest album Home Life is a revelation.
Following its release in September (read up on it HERE), they hit the road with good pals and another great young Aussie band, Sweater Curse, for a big old east coast tour. Fortunately for us they took a bunch of great photos while doing it, and we implore you to have a gander below while you dive in to Home Life again:
The first date of the 'Home Life' Tour was at our favourite place on the planet, Rad Bar, Wollongong. Gong is filled with some of our favourite people in the world, our favourite venue in the world and the our biggest supporter/manager Daniel Radburn. Gong is our second home 100%. Our best mates Kell and Chris from Totty are in this one, along with Jeb from Farmer & The Owl, who always supports our band. Also, Martin's in here. Martin shouted at me throughout the whole set that night.
Playing shows on the tour was cool. How cool does Rei from Sweater Curse look in this one? Cool Siamese shirt too. Very C00L.
It's always insane going on these tours, just to remind you that people really do give a fuck about what you do. Especially in an Australian Music Industry that is so dependent on triple j, shots like this show that you can do it with or without the consistent support of triple j etc - we got some nice fans.
This is our favourite video guy Ryan WhatSahb, we love him. He's legitimately one of the nicest, most genuine and creative people I've met. Love ya Ryan.
This was taken at our hometown launch, still one of my favourite shows to date.
We love Sweater Curse. Three of the best humans in Aus' - they toured with us on the whole album Tour.
Fun time playing the dad guitar.
Josh and I are mates. Same with Sam (NP).
Before the Adelaide show, we spent the day recording demos for whatever we release next with Ali Wells of Grinch Recordings. He has the best place in Adelaide, right on Grange beach. Our mates Hockey Dad even wrote a song about the place, called Grange. Also, I got a Golden Gaytime Krusher that day - Was a good day.
One of the best things about these shows, was the crowds both had a great time and were respectful of others around them. Wahoo.
Mates!
