No Mono have covered Unchained Melody and yep, tears, all of the tears

It's fair to say Toms Iansek and Snowdon that combine for No Mono have been one of our favourite acts of 2018. Their debut album Islands Part 1 was an absolute beauty, the Australian tour that followed was equally as great, and we imagine their special performance at VIVID Live in Sydney was no doubt magnificent.

It was at that show the duo first rolled out a cover of the beloved 1955 classic, Unchained Melody, a track you've very likely heard in some form or another over the years since. With the midas touch of Iansek's sparse production and Snowdon's godly voice, it takes on a whole new form, one that they've very kindly decided to share a proper recording of. Snowdon fills us in: "We first performed the song at the Opera House for Vivid Live. As soon as those first notes come out to form the verse melody, the audience broke into song with us. It's magic like that, this song, it means a lot to so many people... When we play it live there's a lot of space between notes - lots of room to let the words, notes and vocals linger. We wanted to capture this in the studio recording - capture it as we perform it."
