Our favourite Aussie art punks announce forthcoming 12’ release with wild new single.
Following their recent Australian tour, rock experimentalists Tropical Fuck Storm are back with the hypnotically raucous new single The Golden Ratio, lifted from a forthcoming 12” titled Submersive Behaviour, set for release in Febaruary 2023.
A rough and rugged genre-defying cut, The Golden Ratio sees TFS doing what only they can, fusing the cacophonous and melodic in an addictive four minute aural package.
“The Golden Ratio exists when a line is divided into two parts and the longer part (a) divided by, the smaller part (b) is equal to the sum of (a) + (b) divided by (a), which both equal 1.61803398875. Our new song has been crafted to these exact specifications for the purposes of musical excellence, " frontman Gareth Liddiard explains.
As well as a few cuts from their recent Moonburn EP, the Submersive Behaviour 12’ will also feature a 19-minute cover of Jimi Hendrix’s 1983 (A Merman I Should Turn To Be) that’s sure to be a wild ride. Gareth says "Our version of 1983 A Merman I Shall Turn To Be is an attempt to right the recent wrongs perpetrated against Hendrix's classic "Angel" by some idiot from One Direction doing a karaoke-style "tribute" for Jimi's 80th birthday.”
Bit excited about that! In the meantime, give The Golden Ratio a spin.
