Another track from Lido's upcoming album Everything and the second track released by Cashmere Cat today..

More Lido More Lido

It seems like it was only last week when I was saying that the build-up to Lido’s debut album Everything has been a relatively quiet one, with the only real release from the album being Crazy back in April and then Murder, which was released this time last week. With only another week to go until the long-awaited arrival of Everything, the Norwegian producer has released another new track, this time teaming up with fellow Norwegian Cashmere Cat (who has had a big day release-wise himself) for Dye, a song that has been in the works for quite a while now. The track has been in Lido’s live sets for about two years and for a good reason. Dye throbs with an emotional opening vocal line (“I would die if you would dye your hair / don’t change, don’t change” – a possible nod to Halsey?), which lingers above a stripped-back, clicking production. With a quick-firing succession of percussion slaps, the track opens up just after the one-minute mark into an airy, very Cashmere Cat-esque breakdown, which unexpectedly turns into a punching, percussion-loaded bridge with manipulated, pitched vocals.

Dye has quite an alternative edge to it (similar to the orchestral wails of Murder), which manages to distance itself from the more commercialized Crazy – a somewhat controversial track between some of Lido’s long-term fans. But either way, Everything is shaping up to be an absolute stellar album, one we can’t wait to hear once it’s released October 7th. Check out the cover art to the album below, which arrived today alongside the tracklisting to the album.
