More Flying Lotus More Flying Lotus

Apparently there's about 80 or so tracks that never made it onto Kendrick Lamar's To Pimp a Butterfly - L.A. legend Flying Lotus has been kind enough to share at least one part of one of them with us, however! During his You're Dead! shows, he's been playing a track that features a verse from Kendrick Lamar. He's now shared on his Soundcloud the full verse he played throughout his tour. Over FlyLo's typically jazzy, spacey beats, and a bunch of bass slapp from Thundercat, Kendrick goes in, rapping about how he's no 'radio fluke'.

Flying Lotus played it at the end of his recent BBC Radio 1 residency, along with an interview with Kendrick Lamar, in which the duo chat about Kendrick's new album, which FlyLo calls "a future classic", before Kendrick gets spirtual, chatting about his dreams, the inspirations behind his new album and offering some life advice: "I encourage you, the listener, to always put your heart over a number or a dollar sign."

Aside from Kendrick's gems, the episode's well worth a listen for the music selects - lquality old-school funk and hip hop jams, and tunes from Nosaj Thing, Thundercat, Knxwledge and more. There's also a guest mix from Lapalux, who dropped a jazz-inspired album, Lustmore, recently.
