....and removed everything else..
Over years and years of A-grade productions under both his Lido and Trippy Turtle alias, the hype for Peder Losnegård's debut album Everything is reaching fever pitch. Since its climactic first tease Crazy, news on the album has been pretty thin (although he did tell us that he played out the full thing, in order, at Coachella), but now we've been greeted by the biggest hint yet that the album is coming soon (like, soon-soon, not Frank Ocean soon). First up, he's removed/hidden everything from his Soundcloud. Every remix, every production, every original - gone, all gone. Whilst you might be thinking "but that means absolutely squat", well consider the fact that quite a few producers have done the same pre-album or EP drop, take Mr. Carmack or Rustie for example. He's also just uploaded three new remixes, and whilst they're not quite the cuts from the album we were secretly praying for, each remix's cover art is layered underneath the Everything cover art visual. First up sees Lido teaming up with R&B crooner Santell (who he collaborated with for a full EP, The Passion Project), Heavy Mellow and electronic brass crew Brasstracks for a horn-filled, R&B-swinging cover of Bieber's Sorry that throbs with shades of Spanish, jazz and R&B. Back It Up sees Lido team up with Santell again for a crooning remix of THEY.'s original, which further delves into Lido's influences in hip-hop and R&B, something we've become well-accustomed to in past remixes and originals, plus production credits for Chance The Rapper. The final cut is more of a solo affair, adding a driving bassline and gospel chords to GoldLink's Sober Thoughts, with horns borrowed from Brasstracks once again. Take a listen to the three remixes below, and sit tight for more news on Lido's debut album Everything, which HOPEFULLY should be here soon.
