It's pretty hard to deny the omnipresent existence of Cog & Karnivool in the Australian musical landscape from roughly 2004 onwards, when they both released their debut albums. Lucius Borich has been the drummer of Cog for that entire existence, minus a few years off in the wilderness for the band as a whole in the middle. Now, they are joining forces again for the first time in 17 years to headline Monolith Festival, starting off with a covert trip down to Adelaide.
Monolith Festival kicks off in August - kicks off in Adelaide for a quick mini-version of the festival at Hindley Street Music Hall, then starts off properly in Brisbane, then on to Sydney and Melbourne in August and finishing up in Mid-September in Perth.
Pricey had a chat with Lucius Borich, drummer for Cog, about this re-joining of two powerhouse acts on stage for the first times in 17 years, the old days of touring in their landcruiser troopie, connecting with live music over hearing music through devices, and connecting with audiences via the wavelengths of music.
