The two artists catch up over text to fill us in on new music releases, upcoming tours, and a Perth Festival show this Friday.
Many artists blend the lines of genre to yield a unique sonic landscape, and when it comes to hip-hop and jazz infused neo-soul Boorloo/Perth's Grievous Bodily Calm and Naarm/Melbourne’s 30/70 have perfected their recipes, respectively sitting in lanes of their own whilst sharing enough crossover for it to see fitting for them to share a stage. For Boorloo fans this is the case as the artists, alongside the irresistible alt-pop stylings of Great Statue - a project by Annika Moses (Nika Mo), perform The Rechabite this Friday February 17th as part of Perth Festival.
Alongside the show, 30/70 have their fourth studio album dropping on the same date, already giving us a taste with singles WITHOUT YOU, WITHIN ME, ALL 4 U, and ACCEPTANCE - which was recently featured in our Best Tunes of The Week.
Fresh from east coast shows including a showcase at Bigsound and at the Sydney Opera House Forecourt, Grievous Bodily Calm are gearing up for a festival appearance at Panama (TAS) following Perth Festival, in addition to teasing new releases ahead in 2023.
