"Not to sound too cliché but I think love is the strongest force in the universe and that the only way to truly be free is to live with love in your life..." - Mt. Cleverest’s Christian Mechler.
Mt. Cleverest’s Money EP focused on “breaking out of the system and following your dreams”, and their latest offering, Free, “takes it a step further”, according to vocalist Christian Mechler.
The new EP from the Perth outfit will drop this Friday with the band performing a hometown launch at Indi Bar in Scarborough on the same night.
“The EP is really encapsulated in the title track - it feels and sounds like being free… the notion of just being anything you dream of and going for it, no doubts,” drummer Gabriel Nash told The Music.
“It’s incredible the different intricacies and happy mistakes that come from live recording, you realise that you have to know the songs front to back and inside out. A good challenge for any musician."
Bassist Andrew Siffleet added: “The recording process was super energetic. Poons Head allows for the best of both worlds for recording a live set and having isolated tracks. Getting to feed off of the other band members and have those dynamics recorded makes this a project I’m super proud of.”
