In celebration of the release of SOLLYY and Dylan Atlantis’ collab track No Assumptions, we had the pair interview one another where they chat everything from their funniest experiences to what they’d teach a parrot if they had the chance.
DYLAN: What’s an outfit from a music video you wished you owned?
SOLLYY: I can’t think of an all-timer right now but recently I’d say A$AP Rocky’s ‘fit in the RIOT video, the belt goes so hard.
SOLLYY: What’s the funniest experience we’ve had together?
DYLAN: We've had so many, but I think it would be when we got so faded after a Breakfast Road show and freestyled for 2 hours straight with our friends at our friend Jacinthe’s apartment.
DYLAN: Grailed piece of music equipment you’d like to have in the studio?
SOLLYY: I’d love to have a real-life Fender Rhodes piano one day.
SOLLYY: What’s a song you wish you made?
DYLAN: Pyramids by Frank Ocean.
DYLAN: What’s your most embarrassing moment?
SOLLYY: In year 7 I put up a status on Facebook asking for songs to cover on the guitar, and this girl I had a crush on requested that I do One Thing by One Direction - so I got my sister to film it and I full sang it guitar in hand and everything.
I was just supposed to have her see the vid though, but I didn’t realise back then if you tag someone in your vid then all their friends see it. So the whole year eventually saw this video of me singing One Thing on Facebook. Took a while to live down that one.
SOLLYY: If you had a pet parrot, what would you teach it to say?
DYLAN: I’d probably try and make it swear heaps or teach it how to sing.
SOLLYY: What song?
DYLAN: Love Sosa by Chief Keef.
